My name is Heather Richmond, from Melbourne, Australia and
I have been a Polymer Clay Artist since 1992. Whilst living
and working in the United States as an Occupational Therapist,
I discovered this wonderful 'new clay' and was immediately
and incurably captivated. In particular the technique of 'Millefiori'
(creating pictures using clay) caught my imagination - I loved
the colours, patterns and textures possible with this technique.
As a result of this unbridled obsession I travelled extensively
across the United States to complete workshops with some of
the 'masters' of this art form - namely Kathleen Dustin, Pier
Voulkos, Kathy Amt, Nan Roche, Lindly Haunani and Sarah Shriver.
These artists imparted not only valuable techniques but a
vision of the unlimited potential of this amazing clay. I
truly believe I will never lose my passion for this material
and all of it's endless possibilities, with only one's imagination
being the limiting factor!
